Since from the inception , Vikas Bharti, Bishunpur is focussing towards the transformation of the education system. As the organization is considering education to be the most powerful as well as sustainable tool to cater all forms of societal issues. For such the Vikas Bharti , Bishunpur is running 14 residential centres(Ashrams) for both boys and girls of the tribals and marginalized communities since from the year 1986 to reside and continue their education either in organisation supported schools or in any other formal schools. These centres are fully equipped with good infrastructure, logistic facilities , academic support and homely atmosphere that aspire the children towards their overall development. Vikas Bharti has supported to establish 5 formal schools for both boys and girls in Bishunpur, Gumla since from the year 1986 with the main motto of bringing or mainstreaming the out of school and school drop-out children belonging tothe most vulnerable tribals and backward section from across the hard to reach areas of the Gumla district so as to provide them with quality education from Class I to Class X. Vikas Bharti is running since from the year 2008 in partnership with The Tribal Welfare Department, Government of Jharkhand on PPP mode 4 PVTG Schools for both boys and girls with the main purpose to cater the community towards the need and the importance of education and also develop them as the change agent for the society.
Under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Vikas Bharti had set up a large chain of Setu Schools in Gumla, Lohardaga and Latehar districts. They helped 10,500 children return to school through 90 residential and 1283 non-residential Setu Schools. These children were enrolled in various schools.
The major programs run by Vikas Bharti under SSA are:
Implemented across 136 panchayats in 11 blocks of Gumla district. Under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, 253 Gram Shiksha Samiti were formed, training 1668 trainees (1306 male, 362 female).
Launched to bring children aged 6–14 back into formal education. Approved in Oct 2003, implementation began Nov 2003. Focused on ages 11–14, targeting dropout challenges in Gumla. By Jan 2004, Vikas Bharti opened 55 residential schools across 11 blocks with 2250 enrolled children and 55 teachers. Also operated 215 non-residential schools across Ghagra, Sisai, and Bharno blocks with 5350 children and 215 teachers.

Shiksha Hetu Samajik Pehal (30-5-15): On May 30, 2015, a social awakening on education programme “Shiksha Hetu Samajik Pehal” was organized at Khunti Club, Khunti under Khunti district. P.R.I. members, gramsabha members and community members, women of S.H.G. groups participated in this programme. The main objective was to sensitize community on girls education and motivate them to take initiatives to check migration and trafficking. The officers from education department also interacted with community members.
