Introduction

Vikas Bharti Bishunpur

Vikas Bharti, Bishunpur emerged through the people’s movement in the year of 1982 and then turned out to be as Non Government Organisation in 1983 under the society registration act of 1860. The organisation has it’s origin at Bishunpur block of undivided Bihar later on in the state of Jharkhand. The organisation has worked closely in partnrship with the Government and other supporting agencies for transforming human lives and tribal communities across the state of Bihar. Vikas Bharti started to work for the community by making them aware of health and sanitation .Gradually the behavioral pattern of the primitive tribes has stated to change. Food habit also changed people an dnow they started to realise the importance of natural resources like water, forest , land and animals. Crop cultivation stated in the area. People were made aware of sustainable utilization of forest resources and proper management of natural resources, so as to maat the social, ecological, economic and cultural requirements. Later on when the state of Bihar has been bifurcated and the stae of Jharkhand came into existence in the year 2000, the organization started to work closely in partnership with the state Government along with other partners through various projects over the issues related to Education , Livelihood, Health and community empowerments. To transform the human lives the organisation has collaborated strategically with partners and implemented the projects to achieve the vision , thus have changed the human lives tremendously. The organisation has developed trust with the partners and aligned the vision of the organisation with it’s partner’s vision for inclusive development. This resulted in a long term partnership with the states, national and international agencies. In the current difficult time, the organisation is working with more than 50 projects in partnership with the Government of Jharkhand , Government of India , Corporate sectors and other International funding agencies. The working of the organisation has been widely recognised at various levels and resulted in a national recognition thus conferring of the Padma Shree award to the Secretary cum Social Activist of the Vikas Bharti Sri Ashok Bhagat by the Government of India in 2015.
